"Where Did It All Go Wrong"

© 2009 (Rough Draft)

It all began so simple in life,
From Adam to Eve, as the sun shone bright.
Passed down to our grandparents,
Where love was at first sight,
A boy chases a girl that's pure and shy,
Innocent puppies doing what's right.
Third base can wait until the wedding night.
The boy turns into a man, but always polite.
Still opens the door for his valentine.
The year, 1949 & doing just fine.
For what's worth the wait is worth waiting more time.
Sending flowers and gifts, just holding her tight.
No crowbar in the world could pry away his might.
For what doesn't come easy is worth the fight.
In a world full of picket fences all white.
And the years grow near until she becomes his bride.
Until death do us apart, until the end of life.
Down on one knee as her parents both cried.
Because the woman said, "yes" and became the man's wife.
But the flowers wilted and then they just dried.
Thrown into the air & exploded like a landmine.
Marriage became harder w/ a higher price.
1/2 the eggs in the basket, rolling only 1 dice
Or jump in full on & compromise.
He worked every day, the kids all played,
While the woman stayed home raising them up right.
For they became one in the body of Christ.
Bundles of joy, a dad's delight.
They were the apple in their father's eyes.
Teaching them discipline, but wisdom to insight.
Following his lead, doing what's right.
Those little ones were taught to respect and never to start a fight.
But confused they became listing to lyrics that remain, "Out of sight, out of mind."
While across the town, on the other side,
Were also three kids who lived in strife.
For they are a result from the father of lies.
And their mom a harlot who worked many of nights.
The decisions she's made, Didn't go her way.
Now they will just try to survive.
For fornication has gone world wide.
Spreading disease and disaster, death is alive.
Biological clock ticking, truly the test of time.
AIDS has now taken their mother's life.
So the kids joined a gang of crime.
Just to make ends meat, soon they could die.
For the turn of the tide is never glorified.
But the wave to redemption is surely justified.
As first Corinthian speaks of these I've described.
And the dangers of sin forever condemned.
For he never changes, But can turn a loss into a win.
Seems to far away, But he's really within,
So who will tell them,
And where do we begin?
How about the family that resides behind the white picket fence?
Because life in a gutter has an awful consequence.
Thank God above, few will still lend a hand.
And those three children living in sorrow and sin.
Were brought home to a place & moved in.
A place with peace, no need for defense.
Where the sign on a wall reads.
"In this house, we will only serve him."
Who tames a lion in it's very own den.
And calms the waves by silencing the wind.
He's the father of our beloved friend.
Whose number eleven on a scale of ten.
But, I'm sorry to say, this isn't where the story ends.
For who does the phantom really think he's foolin'?
Because theres still those out there, in the billions,
Souls being destroyed, they've free fallen.
With parents who are no longer kin, disease has taken them, far away.
But I certainly don't mean to rain on the parade.
But what will it take, For us to not fornicate?
Joining the likes of the devil's brigade.
This temple of ours with legs and half a brain.
Destroys the spirit which someone else had paid.
So, go ahead, if you must look away.
But, you might be walking into water full of AIDS.
Which doesn't prey on those of any race.
Or size and gender, it never discriminates,
Lying in a bed, on it's victim it awaits.
Destroying many in millions with horrible hate.
Will this be a choice? Will this be your fate?
Maybe not now, but sooner that late.
As a childless father sits above and debates.
Asking for more time to his dad who creates.
But a moment is remembere'd, HE's bitter in taste.
For his only son, on a cross once laid.
Arms stretched out, they spit in his face.
Not knowing the cost given for the human race.
With blood dripping from the thorns in a vase.
The rose wilted and died one day.
Too many followed the lies of that snake.
A python in the tree, Crushing the bones around his waist.
Sign with a cross under a snake still sit above every hospital name plate.
While cancer spreads, it's making it's case.
Sin continues, gift wrapped in ribbon and lace.
Billions see billboards selling products thru lingerie.
While lust eats the holy heart,
Like a worm's hole that is carved.
Into the apple of faith.
No time ever has life been such a waste.
So call on his name, HE's not far away.
Who made the blind to see and heals the lame.
Turn back to the past of more simple decades.
When being a teen, meant you didn't have to shave.
Worry about what to wear and those two faced.
We're growing up too quickly, in a world of disgrace.
Children are slaughtered by the hands of their date.
Attached at the hips, too young for mate.
How do they get through school security with a gun anyways?
" Cool to drink at lunch", some say,
"For a day not wasted is a wasted day."
But we keep telling our self, it will all be ok.
"They'll grow out of it", or is it to late.
As another soul drives off a bridge with barricades.
The street they were raised was only one way.
And the dirt that lies under the road that's paved.
Is the dust from which we all came.
The mirror on the wall down the school's hall of fame.
Will shatter in pieces, lives lost is a shame.
Never settling for average,
Even though we're all made the same.
By the one above who never will change.
Each of his children marked by a special DNA.
Unique prints on fingers, gives each a different name.
Before even born, knows exactly what you'll weigh.
Like the drops from a cloud, knows the number of rain,
That turns into snow, we're just elves in HIS sleigh.
All aboard, the trains about to pull away.
Same destination of those on a airplane.
He'S the pilot, he'll show us the way.
Some get there thru fortune and fame.
Falling from glory like in the song by "The Frey."
None of us worthy, on the way to the grave.
Already fell before being lifted by grace,
Finally we can see, found mercy in his shade.
While heat beams down, snow melts away,
Global flooding, prime land starting to fade.
Death and disease eat on bones of decay.
Newspapers front cover is reading like the Bible's last page.
And flesh of this world burns, Matthew 24 says this still today.,
And Revelation 4:1 says many of them will say,
"Where did it all go wrong?" "Why's there fire in this place?"
For we've gone down a different path, but He's still the only way!
