"Storm Alert

© 2009 (Rough Draft)

April is here, clouds block the sun.
Head for cover, hear it comes.
Tornado's a stirring, no way to outrun.
Try to be a hero, no need to be dumb.
Lightning strikes, thunder roars.
Flash in the distance, from the finger of the Lord.
They've never seen such a massive storm.
For 40 days and 40 nights,
So much water, it was quite a sight.
For no one stands a chance against his might.
It's like flying in a hurricane, but you're only a kite,
No power in the world could put up a fight.
Giveth and taketh, that's just what he's like.
Even his son comes like a thief in the night.
The clouds became dark.  Rain began to pour.
Land started to shake.  The ground had been torn.
Flood gates open deep and wide.
No where for them to seek and hide.
Laughed while the boat was  built and asked why?
But now can only cry and say goodby.
For the dirt that was once dry,
Turned to mud as dust was defied.
Living for the moment it's their time to die.
Water filled the earth as they hung on for dear life.
The oceans overflowed.
Rivers began to rise.
Once the two were separated,
But now they will collide.
No more expanse exists between the sea and the sky.
As dark took over the last of the light.
Birds took off south in flight.
Two of each animal and one man, found favor in his sight.
Soaking up his word with a sponge in delight.
Friends told him he was a failure.
But still lived in good behavior.
While neighbors called him a useless bum.
Thrown out of the gutter, and lived among the slums.
But no one can change his will that "will be done".
Even most animals were eventually flung.
Into the waters where they plunged.
For the storm does not discriminate on anything or anyone,
Rich, poor, the old and the young.
Everybody that had joked and made fun,
Some to the bottom of the ocean where leaks had sprung.
Some into seas where they will bite their own tongues.
As water fills each and every lung.
Words that cursed were now mum.
For their swan song had finally been sung.
Unlike Noah, but thru shed blood you're also a favored one.
On the side of the road, holding up a desperate thumb.
Tired and weary, hitchhiking, and on the run.
No love to give or get, your heart has turned numb.
Helpless and looking down the barrel of a gun,
Ready to end it, before it begun.
Crying out with one last breath of your lungs.
Calling out, but your phone hasn't rung.
No body cares, feel you're on your own.
No place to lay your head, no where to call home.
Kicked to the curb, feeling so dumb,
When all of a sudden, out of the blue.
Sounds in the distance, something's coming for you.
Silence turns into an angels soft hum.
Where in the world is that coming from?
It seems to have a different beat.
He plays to a different drum.
Music to your ears, peace bringing tears, like that of a nun,
Around the corner is the only one that will come.
Thru fire and brimstone, & broken bottles of rum.
Reaching for the child that finally surcumbs.
His head held high, for HE also once hung.
On a lonely cross where they spit and made fun.
"Forgive them father for they know what they've done."
Death can not defeat him.
He's the Savior, The only begotten son.
Those that believe in him shall not perish, but overcome.
For he who does the truth,
The light will surely come,
And his deeds may be clearly seen.
Thru God they have been done.
He's the Prince of Peach, the everlasting one.
The God Almighty, he's second to none.
In his mouth lies a two edged tongue.
The word is his sword.
The war has been won.
A burden on your shoulders.
Weighing well over a ton.
Lifted forever, life given to you,
Back under the sun.
And a promise thru a rainbow,
Stretched across the heavens above.
To children everywhere that only he could love.
We thank you now in the name of the Father and son,
And Holy Spirit that came in the form of a dove!
